"The Information Technology revolution has had an incredible impact
on the ways in which we organize work, educate children, and communicate with
each other. However, the full potential of these technologies has yet to
be realized. In the latest of a series of conversations involving remarkable
thinkers, The Progress Project explores how technology can be used as a tool
to promote progress.
To that end, the Progress Project invited Dr. Doug Engelbart and Dr. Alan
Kay, two of the people responsible for putting computers on everyone's desk,
to engage in a conversation centered on how technology can be used to spread
the blessings of progress to a broader section of humanity, improve the ways
in which we work, use knowledge and information, and educate children."
