Smalltalks 2009 Argentina Conference


All those connected with Smalltalk, be it faculty, students, researchers, developers or entrepreneurs, are invited to participate, free of cost, as presenters and members of the audience. The organization committee will announce the registration website shortly.

The conference's goal is to gather both the Argentine and International Smalltalk community to get connected sharing our work and experience with regards to Smalltalk or related topics. Smalltalks 2009 presentations will be divided between the "Industry and Development" and "Research and Education" categories. In addition, the event will host a Smalltalk programming contest. As in other editions, well known personalities from the international community will attend the conference.

Argentina's third Smalltalk conference, Smalltalks 2009, will be held from November 19th through November 21rd at the Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales (FCEyN), Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA).

2010 International Smalltalk Conference
The 2010 edition of the largest European Smalltalk event will include the regular Smalltalk developers conference with renowned invited speakers, a Smalltalk camp that proves fruitful for interactions and discussions. This year will see the 5th edition of the Innovation Technology Awards where prizes will be awarded to authors of best pieces of Smalltalk-related projects and an international workshop on Smalltalk and dynamic languages.

The 2010 ESUG conference will be held at Sept 11 to 17 in Barcelona, Spain.

2009 International Smalltalk Conference
This year's edition of the largest European Smalltalk event will include the regular Smalltalk developers conference with renowned invited speakers, a Smalltalk camp that proves fruitful for interactions and discussions. This year will see the 5th edition of the Innovation Technology Awards where prizes will be awarded to authors of best pieces of Smalltalk-related projects and an international workshop on Smalltalk and dynamic languages.

The 2009 ESUG conference will be held at the Université de Bretagne Occidentale(UBO) in Brest, France, August 31 - September 4, 2009; Camp Smalltalk 29-30 august 2009.


OOPSLA ORLANDO 2009
OOPSLA, the original conference devoted to object-oriented programming, has grown in scope to encompass programming, practices and paradigms addressing current software challenges, such as programmer productivity, security & reliability, ultra-large scale systems and evolving hardware platforms. At OOPSLA, you can find out about the latest developments from research and industry, participate in a workshop, improve your skills at a hands-on tutorial, or join other sessions that will feed your mind in creative and fun ways. Make sure to attend the session: "Back to the Future: Programming in Smalltalk".

2006 OOPSLA Conference

Alan Kay to deliver Turing Lecture at OOPSLA 2004!
ACM Conference on Object-Oriented Programming, Systems, Languages, and Applications.
Vancouver, BC, Canada, October 24th - 28th, 2004.

Alan Kay won the Turning Award this year for his innovative work inventing the Personal Computer and Smalltalk. In addition to the innovative work that he and his team did at Xerox on Smalltalk, Alan and crew have been busy working on a highly amazing collaborative communications tool, built with Squeak Smalltalk, that is known as Open Croquet. It is likely that Alan will be showing this latest work during his Turing Lecture and otherwise at the OOPSLA conference. A developer release of Open Croquet is expected in September 2004.

Camp Smalltalk at OOPSLA 2005
